For a young financial institution, making a name in the mortgage world is important. But how can it be done? MUNT Hypotheken set up the independent knowledge platform Kop-Munt, where mortgage brokers can find relevant information and inspiration related to their field. Contentoo takes care of the writing and editorial activities for the site.

‘When MUNT was founded in 2014, there was a lot going on in the mortgage and housing market’, recalls Marketing Manager Leon Houtzager from MUNT. ‘There were a lot of new players on the market. But we had a clear message: MUNT is here to stay, and our knowledge platform lets people see that.’

Independent editorial staff

The goal of the knowledge platform was for MUNT to strengthen ties with mortgage brokers. ‘One option is to tell a commercial story, but another way is to share knowledge, including independent information. When you choose the second option, it simply makes sense to outsource the editorial activities to an external partner. Contentoo has the in-house writers and the know-how to cover all our writing and editorial needs.

Just say 'go'

All the content on Kop-Munt is written by Contentoo writers. Thanks for the extensive pool of freelancers, there’s always a copywriter or journalist available who has experience writing on financial topics. Each month, they turn in a list of new ideas for articles. Houtzager reviews the list. All he has to do is say ‘go’, and the copywriters get to work. Afterwards, he checks the content, and once the articles are approved, Contentoo places them in the CMS.

Inspiring and enticing

Houtzager says that Kop-Munt is like an in-house magazine at a supermarket, except for the financial world. It is a source of inspiration, where readers gain new insights and are enticed into taking action. Just as an in-house magazine entices readers to shop at the supermarket for all the ingredients they need for a recipe, Houtzager wants for mortgage brokers who read Kop-Munt to ultimately become MUNT customers.

‘In real terms, Kop-Munt reaches one third of all mortgage brokers in the Netherlands’, says Houtzager. This means they are achieving their goal of keeping MUNT Hypotheken top of mind among their target group. ‘It is also a great way to maintain relationships with customers.
